MONMOUTH – The Henry L. Cottrell School is planning a supper for friends and neighbors on Friday, Sept. 15, in celebration of its 50th year. The evening will include a public supper, tours, photos, a timeline, singing and story telling with local people, including Gary Crocker.

Whenever possible locally grown products will be used in preparation of the supper. Chicken pie, coleslaw, cukes, tomatoes, biscuits, butter, apple crisp, whipped cream, hot and cold drinks are on the menu.

Students will gather apples, prepare toppings, create centerpieces, whip cream and butter. Teachers will make the apple crisp and the school kitchen workers will make chicken pies.

Fresh vegetables are being solicited. “Old” photos and newspaper pictures from the 1940s through the 2000s will be on a time line. Crocker, school alumnus and Maine humorist, will tell a few stories at 6:30 p.m.

Cost is $5 a person or $20 a family. Reservations are needed in advance by calling the school at 933-4426.
