SEBAGO – Eugene E. Thomas, 52, of Sebago, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, at his home.

He was born June 3, 1954, in Farmington, the son of Bernard E. and Anita (Berry) Thomas. He graduated from Dirigo High in 1974. In 2006, he married Cathy Crawford in Sebago. He made a career of serving his country, first in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years from 1974 to 1998, then for the U.S. Postal Service in Portland until retiring due to ill health.

He was a member of the V.F.W. in Farmington. He enjoyed his classic 1966 Chevelle, spending time with his dog and constant companion Henry, watching the Red Sox, hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy; a daughter, Monica Thomas; three sons, James, Joseph and Jason Thomas; his parents, Bernard and Anita Thomas; three sisters, Bonnie Oliver and her husband, Donald, of Chesterville, Marylou Bachelder and her husband, Cyrus, of Avon and Donna Teuber and her husband, Stephen, of Cape Coral, Fla.; three brothers, Roger Thomas and his wife, Betty, of Chesterville, Arthur “Bernie” Thomas of Farmington and Barry Thomas of Farmington; a mother-in-law, Phyllis Austin of South Paris; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Berry; and grandparents Thomas.
