The New England Patriots re-signed wide receiver Bam Childress to their practice squad on Wednesday.
Childress had been activated from the squad on Sunday and played that day in a 19-17 win over the Buffalo Bills. He was released by the team on Tuesday to make room for wide receiver Jonathan Smith, who had been released before Sunday’s game.
Childress was active for one regular-season game last year and spent the other 15 on the Patriots practice squad. He had no catches in this year’s opener. The Patriots first signed him last summer as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State.
