HAMPTON, N.H. – John H. Buotte Sr., 83, of Lawrence, Mass., died Thursday, Sept. 14, at his summer home in Hampton, N.H.

Born May 13, 1923, he was educated in Rumford, making his home in Lawrence, Mass., and spending the summer months in Hampton, N.H. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. For 20 years he was a supervisor with the Ingersoll-Rand Co., before his retirement. He was the past commander of the American Legion in Rumford, VFW Post 1641 also in Maine, and a member of the Lawrence Elks.

The widower of Rita (Fortier) Buotte, he leaves his beloved companion of 34 years, Alice R. Franz of Lawrence, Mass.; one daughter, Nancy Bouthot and her husband, Stephen, of Hollis Center; two sons, John H. Buotte Jr. of Old Orchard and Jeffrey M. Buotte of Old Orchard Beach; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
