LEWISTON – Mary K. Flaherty, 89, formerly of 8 Laase Ave., Lewiston died Thursday, Sept. 14, at Marshwood Center for Care & Rehabilitation.
She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 22, 1916, the daughter of Michael and Florence (Horzampa) Klimek. She was educated in the Lewiston school system.
She was the widow of Martin Flaherty whom she married on May 4, 1946, and who died in 1986.
She worked for many years at the Pepperell Mill and also at Bonon Shoe Co. until her retirement.
She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Church and the St. Joseph’s Queens Guild, Lewiston Senior Citizens, Horizon 55 and Covenant 50.
She is survived by her brothers, Emil and Joseph Klimek; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Catherine Warchalowski and Frances Luckie; and her brothers, Henry and John Klimek.
