LEWISTON – Only one club in each of the two divisions remained unbeaten Sunday after Week 3 in the Lewiston Area Youth Football League For Youth (FLY).
The Twins Variety Senior Giants recorded their first victory, a 24-7 win over Aaron’s Sales & Lease Steelers.
In the other Senior contest, a battle of unbeatens, Compass Coin Lions handed Lisbon Street Getty Mart Redskins their first loss, 26-0. Ben Wigant dominated both sides of the ball. Also having a fine game for the Lions were Matt Therrien, Luke Farrago and Spencer Martin. The Redskins were paced offensively by Stephen Hinkley, Jacob Lajoie and Devin Goyette. Shawn O’Connell sparkled defensively, along with George Hopkins, Kevin St. Pierre and Letavian Sands.
In the Junior Division, Grimmel’s Gas-Up Giants ran their record to 3-0 with an 18-0 win over Bagels-N-Things Steelers. Quintarian Brown scored on runs of 55- and 68-yards. Tony Curry hit the end zone on a 60-yard gallop. Josh Knight made big plays on defense and the offensive line.
Northeast Athletics Redskins gained a hard-fought 13-6 triumph over Don Morin’s Photo Lions in the other Junior tilt.
