PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – A Portsmouth (New Hampshire) High School security officer faces sex assault charges over an alleged incident that dates back more than 20 years.
David Keitt, 61, has been barred from all school property even though the alleged assault did not have any connection to the school and occurred before he began working there.
Police say the alleged victim was 16 at the time and only recently reported the alleged assault. Keitt turned himself into police and was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail.
Keitt had been the subject of a school investigation in 2000 after complaints were raised about inappropriate behavior toward students. Superintendent Bob Lister said no wrongdoing was found and the police were not involved.
Keitt is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 23.
