LEWISTON – True Carlton Ridley Sr., of Minot, passed away at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center on Friday, Sept. 15, after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born July 14, 1934, in Lewiston, to Cecil A. and Norma D. (Green) Ridley.
True was educated in Minot and Mechanic Falls schools, graduating from Mechanic Falls High School and received further education in the U.S. Navy. He received an honorable discharge in 1957.
He was married to Ginni McAllister (Timberlake) of Mechanic Falls from 1958 to 1967.
He worked as a machinist at J.W. Penney in Mechanic Falls, Northland Industrial Trucking Co. in Auburn and for many years at Paragon Glassworks in Lewiston, retiring in 1999.
True enjoyed spending time with his family and dog, Lily, sharing his home with his eldest daughter and two of his great-grandchildren.
His favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, listening to country music and especially camping in the Brownville Junction area. He loved visiting with his friends at the Twenty M Social Club, the Le Nationale Club and the Mechanic Falls American Legion Post 150.
He is survived by his brother, Gordon Ridley and wife, Germaine, of Cocoa, Fla.; his three daughters, Jodie Bean and husband, Robert, of Minot, Julie Goodell and husband, Miles, of Minot, and Jeana McCannell and husband, Dick, of Monmouth; his son, True C. Ridley Jr. and wife, Tykey, of Hebron; his grandchildren, Levon, Tanya and Corey S. Lawson, Dickson, Kurtis and Casey McCannell, Megan Ridley and Christina Stanley; and his great-grandchildren, Corey True Lawson, Tatyania Drake, Jacob Hart, Alexis Larrabee, Tara Mae Lawson, and Ryan and Zachary Quatrano.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his best friend, Frank Nay.
