Dear Sun Spots: We are exceedingly grateful for the help you have given us in the past. Your Sun Spots column is a “do not miss” in our daily reading of the Lewiston Sun Journal.

Once again, we come to ask your aid in helping us continue our mission of raising money to support the St. Martin de Porres homeless residence for men and women. Due to increasing demand for household items and furniture, we no longer accept or sell clothing. However, we are expanding our line of linens, blankets, jewelry, toys, religious articles, household items such as pots and pans, dishes, tablecloths, curtains, lamps, decorative pieces, electronics, and some furniture.

We are now accepting the above-mentioned items, except of course the clothing! Items can be brought to the thrift store on the corner of College and Bartlett streets during business hours. Our new fall hours, beginning Oct. 1, are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please note we will not be open on Saturdays until next spring. Thank you for your support.

Dear Sun Spots: I was reading the Sun Spots on Sept. 6 and noticed someone looking for a West Bend electric wok. Do you know if they have found one?

We have some at the Farmington Reny’s. I don’t remember the price, but we have about four of them. Have a great day. – Donna Eaton, Farmington.

Answer: Thanks to Donna’s tip, Sun Spots contacted Reny’s, which advised her that they carry the West Bend electric wok for $29.95. John at Reny’s notes they are open Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are located on Broadway in Farmington, 778-4631.
