LEWISTON – Women, Work and Community, a statewide nonprofit organization, is offering a free workshop for anyone interested in starting a business. The two-hour workshop will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 28, at USM/UMA Lewiston-Auburn College in Lewiston.

The workshop will cover the pros and cons of owning a business, how to get started, point out the major elements of a business plan, introduce resources available in the Androscoggin County area and offer advice on whether self-employment is the right choice.
