LISBON – Rep. Robert A. Berube, R-Lisbon, has announced that he will seek a third term in the Maine Legislature. Again running as a Clean Election Candidate, Berube, who represents District 104, said there remains much to do in Augusta to benefit his constituents.
In his first and second terms in the Maine House of Representatives, Berube has been involved in several pieces of legislation to promote business and encourage young people to pursue careers in their home state.
Among the bills he has actively co-sponsored are those involving the enhancement of Pine Tree Development Zones, establishing the Maine Community College System, phasing out the tax on business equipment, and enhancing cooperation, communication, and tax equity among state, county, and local governments.
A significant measure of Berube’s pro-business, pro-jobs advocacy is through the ratings issues by the Maine Economic Research Institute. The nonpartisan group rated Berube favorably.
He and his wife, Venise, have been married for 40 years as of this month. They have two adult sons, Rob, a major in the National Guard serving in Alaska; and Rick, a West Point graduate working in Boston. Berube is a full-time Realtor/broker with Keller Williams Realty Mid Maine in Auburn.
