Granges install
WEST PARIS – West Paris Grange 298 and Bryant Pond Grange 124 will hold joint installation at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at West Paris Grange Hall, 4 Church St. It will be preceded by a potluck supper at 6:30 p.m.
Worship leader
PARIS – Shirley S. Miller will be the worship leader at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24. Music will be by the choir and organist, Forest Perkins. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.
Church service
PARIS – First Baptist Church will hold services at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday with fellowship following the service. For more information, call 743-8661.
Guild supper
CASCO – The Casco Village Ladies Guild and trustees will sponsor the annual soup, stew, chowder and chili supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30. The all-you-can-eat event is a major fundraiser for the CVC renovation fund. The menu will consist of soups, stew, chowders, chili, bread and make-your-own sundae dessert. Tickets are $6 a person. Adult ed classes
PARIS – Oxford Hills Adult Education will hold a course in Microsoft Office on Mondays, starting Sept. 25.
There will also be classes in assertive communication, business planning, backyard composting, scrapbooking, real estate, square dancing and tai chi.
People can join a class to become a Literacy Volunteer or take a course in family caregiving.
Adult Education also has openings in the high school diploma, General Educational Development and college preparation classes. To register, stop in to the Adult Education office at the high school or call 743-8842, press 1.
Scrapbooking
PARIS – The Four Seasons Function Center will host a scrapbooking and stamping fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, to benefit the Western Maine Health Capital Campaign. There will be demonstrations, door prizes and workshops.
Those who preregister will be entered for a drawing for a 10-person crop at Murdock Country Creations in Turner.
The Scrapmobile will be parked outside during the day and will give 10 percent of the sales to the hospital. Also, Melissa from Bee Scrappy, Michelle Breton with Stampin Up, Louise Foster with Creative Memories and Tami Labul with Close to My Heart will be there.

Chinese auction
PARIS – A Chinese auction will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Bidding will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and the drawing of winners will be at 6:30. The cost for tickets is $2.50 for 10; there also are bonus tickets. There will be more than 200 items, and proceeds will benefit Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills. Food and refreshments will be available.
