Auburn – Arthur F. Beauchesne, 84, of 20 Great Falls Plaza, died Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice after a three day stay.

He was born in Lewiston, Aug. 20, 1922, a son of Thomas and Amanda Roy Beauchesne, he attended Lewiston schools and Robert’s Academy.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a foreman at Clark Shoe, and retired from Dorie Shoe in 1984. He also worked as a clerk at Maynard Shoe Store.

He was a member of the Auburn Catholic Community at St. Louis Parish, where he served as beano caller. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 31 Auburn, Lewiston Senior Citizens, New Auburn Senior Citizens 40/8 Club and a former member of the VFW.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Ginette A. Gagne of Auburn, whom he married Oct. 4, 1947; his son, Ronald Beauchesne and his wife, Pauline, of Auburn, N.H.; his grandsons, Donald and Brian, also of Auburn, N.H.; his brothers-in-law, the Rev. Donald S. Gagne S.M. of Lewiston and Antoine Gagne of Brunswick; and a sister-in-law, Bernadette Dugal of Brunswick.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Marie Blanche Couture and Regina Bosse; and his three brothers, Albert, Johnny and Lionel Beauchesne.
