Oxford program
OXFORD – The Oxford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at the Kay House, Pleasant Street. The program will be “Show and Tell.”
Everyone needs to bring some type of gadget to show and tell a story.
The Oct. 27 meeting will be held at the same location, same time and the program will be on “My Favorite Bean Pot” People are encouraged to bring their bean pots to show and tell a story or memory. Others can bring something that is made from pottery. Some members will bake beans and brown bread to share.

Stamping day
PARIS – A “Keeping Memories Alive” workshop will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at the Maine Veterans’ Home on High Street. Proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer’s Unit.
There will be an afternoon of rubber stamping. Deadline for preregistration is Friday, Oct. 6

Society books
WOODSTOCK – The Woodstock Historical Society still has three books for sale.
Ruby Emery, historian, produced two books the society published after her death. “Hamlin’s Gore,” for $20, is about the section of Woodstock where she lived. The short “History of Woodstock” for $4 tells the story of the whole town.
Larry Billings, museum curator for 27 years, has a few copies of his book, “Culture,” for sale at $4.
