With all the preparation and planning that went into the memorial for 9/11 at Festival Plaza in Auburn, it seems to me and others that it should have been advertised more to let the people of Lewiston, Auburn and surrounding towns know about the upcoming event. A small article was published in the Sun Journal on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

A tribute such as this to our fallen heroes, which was followed by a concert by the “Fanfare Band,” deserved better advertising than it received. I admit it was a bit chilly, but I believe if the people knew of the event, the turnout would have been much larger.

The news after the event the next day was more informative than before it. That doesn’t make much sense to me.
