The Lewiston Recreation Department and the city of Lewiston should be proud of their efforts to maintain the tennis courts at Lewiston High School in the Franklin Pasture Complex.

The eight-court complex is considered the best tennis facility in the state of Maine.

Lewiston’s courts receive great recognition from the Maine Principal Association during the state high school tournaments, which have been played in Lewiston the majority of the past few years.

Many towns with similar facilities have let them deteriorate, wasting a huge investment.

Preventive maintenance on these courts is truly an example of an ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure.

These conscientious efforts deserve recognition.
