LEWISTON – Theresa R. Blanchette, 79, died Saturday morning, Sept. 23, at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center.
She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 24, 1927, a daughter to Cyprien and Georgianna Tardif St. Onge. She moved briefly to Turner and returned to Lewiston where she attended school.
Theresa worked briefly at Bates Mill, but later spent her time as a homemaker. She enjoyed volunteering for Pinetree Warriors and belonged to the American Legion Post No. 22, Women’s Auxiliary.
The greatest joy to Theresa was her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Roger D. Blanchette, whom she married on June 4, 1949; sons, Richard and his wife, Jean, of Sabattus, Donald and his wife, Sheila, of Lewiston, and Michael and his wife, Carlene, of Lewiston; daughters, Diane Giguere of Lewiston, and Suzanne Clark and her husband, Garry, of Auburn; a sister, Yvette Dagneau and her husband, Richard, of Lewiston; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by sons, Roger and Bertrand; brothers, Lionel and Ronald St. Onge; and a son-in-law, Donald Giguere.
Her family would like to thank Beacon Hospice and the nursing staff at Russell Park for their excellent care and compassion.
