I have lived on Strawberry Avenue and Tall Pines Road for about 4 years.
With L-A’s expansion and influx of immigrants and people from other states, the Tall Pines Drive/Strawberry Avenue area is filled with people, businesses, two churches, a nursing home, a soon-to-be pet shelter, Dunkin’ Donuts, a doctor’s office, apartments, etc. Full with people also means full with cars.
Many observers see Main Street and Strawberry Avenue as one of the most dangerous intersections in the city.
Each morning, just before school, noon and in the afternoon, this intersection represents a headache and a dangerous area for drivers coming from upper Main Street, Strawberry Avenue and the Dunkin’ Donuts. Drivers on Main Street have the right-of-way, and other drivers sometimes have to be aggressive to go out, or get in.
I suggest that city and transportation officials look into installing a traffic light at that intersection. They should see the danger there and act promptly.
