ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The wedding of Rachel Vallieres and Paul Macias was held at 11 a.m. on June 24 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Alexandria, Va. The Rev. John C. Cregan officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Macias is the daughter of Nannie Vallieres of Auburn and Gilles Vallieres of Durham. Mr. Macias is the son of Agnes Macias of Lorton, Va., and the late Al Macias.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a black wrap dress with pink and ivory sashes and carried a bouquet of pink Gerber daisies in light and hot pink colors.

Rebecca Beaulieu, niece of the bride, was maid of honor, and Julia Foss, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kim Richards-Jones, Leanne Kazilionis, Joy Leach and Kim Fairhurst, friends. Junior bridesmaids were Stephanie Foss and Riva Foss, nieces of the bride.

Noah Jacobs performed the duties of best man for his friend, and ushers were Al Macias and Chris Macias, brothers of the bridegroom, Terry Winchester, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Jose Torres, cousin of the bridegroom. Tyler Vallieres, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.

A reception followed at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Washington, D.C., after which the couple spent two weeks touring the Greek Islands and a few days in Athens, Greece.

The bride is a graduate of Edward Little High School and the University of Southern Maine, with a degree in political science. She is director of community relations for the cable TV industry’s education foundation, Cable in the Classroom.

The bridegroom received a bachelor’s degree in management of information systems and in operations management, both from the University of Arizona. He is currently working for his master’s degree in information systems at Marymount University. He is a research fellow for LMI, a government consultant in McLean, Va.
