Cemetery cleanup
MEXICO – Farrington Morton Cemetery Association has requested that all arrangements, artificial, plant containers and any other décor be removed by Sunday, Oct. 1. The request is made so the sexton can prepare and clean the cemetery for winter.
Scrapping
RUMFORD – Mexico Public Library’s “Fall into Scrapping,” an evening at Scrapper’s Domaine on Canal Street, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26.
Scrapping/stamping projects with fall and holiday themes will be created. The cost for the evening will be $10 an person. All supplies are included in the fee.
Sign up and prepay on or before Monday, Oct. 16, at Mexico Public Library, 134 Main St. It is a fundraiser to benefit the Mexico Public Library. Call the library at 364-3281 for more information.
Fall classes
MEXICO – Region 9 Learning Center will offer a variety of fall classes, including the following, listed by class start dates:
Sept. 25, CAD Mechanical; Sept. 27, clogging; Oct. 2, small engine repair, QuickBooks, calligraphy and working with wool; Oct. 3, beginning welding, chemistry, beginning knitting, Second Steps in Watercolor.
Also, Oct. 4, Intro to the World of American Sign Language; Oct. 10, Intro to Photoshop Elements; Oct. 11: Smoking Cessation Through Hypnosis; Oct. 12, Intermediate and Advanced Photography; Oct. 16, REACH advocate training; Oct. 17, A Family For Me; Oct. 18, weight loss with hypnosis; Oct. 26, No Pressure to Quit Smoking class; Nov. 7, Intermediate Photoshop; Nov. 13, Snapshot Savvy.
A certified nursing assistant class will begin the first week in October and ongoing classes include Intro to Computers and Intermediate Computing.
Other classes include medical terminology, computer office and Driving Dynamics. Those interested are asked to call the Learning Center at 364-2012.
