Sen. Bruce Bryant works for the citizens of SAD 17. That is why I plan to vote to re-elect him in November. Let me explain. Late last winter, our school board received its preliminary budget from Augusta and board members became concerned the district would not receive as much as we believed we deserved. I telephoned Sen. Bryant, who drove to Oxford to listen to our concerns in person.

He promised that he would try to help and three months later, after working quietly behind the scenes, he delivered on his promise. The state of Maine’s contribution to our budget was increased nicely, thereby allowing the school board not to request as large an increase from the towns as would otherwise have been the case. Sen. Bryant is a good man who delivers on his promises.
