Lewiston – Lucille M. Ruby, 84, of 24 Oak St., Apt. 3, Lisbon Falls, passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, at Marshwood Center for Healthcare & Rehabilitation.
She was born in Yonkers, N.Y., on June 10, 1922, a daughter of George H. and Elizabeth Reithebuch Reed. She was educated in Yonkers schools, graduating from Sabattus High School, Class of 1940. She was married to Edward Ruby on May 3, 1947. He passed away December 2004.
She was employed for many years in local woolen mills until they closed. She then worked for LL. Bean retiring in 1984. She loved to bowl and for many years bowled in the women’s leagues.
She is survived by a brother, Herbert L. Reed of Lisbon Falls; four nieces, Carol Pratt and husband, Ben, of Durham, Cheryl Steward and husband, Lynn, of Wales, Carleen Mason and her husband, Roger, of Lisbon and Becky DiBonaventure and her husband, Bob, of North Fort Myers, Fla.; three nephews Allen Small of Jay, Scott Reed and his wife, Judy, of Lewiston and Steven Reed of Sabattus.
She was predeceased by her mother and father; a brother, Errol Reed; and a sister, Joyce Small.
