Lewiston – Philip C. Spellar, 64, of Randall Road, died Sunday, Sept. 24, at Central Maine Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born in Union Township, N.J., on June 3, 1942, a son of the late Norman and June Spellar.

He married Sylvia Pepin on June 29, 1968, and they spent more than 38 years together. He worked for many years at Tambrands Inc. as a machinist until his retirement in 2005. He will be sadley missed by his family, friends and beloved cat Velcro. He had a love for Jazz music and the N.Y. Giants.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Lewiston; three sons, Robert (Michele) Tanski of Massachusetts, John (Rhonda) Spellar of Tennessee and Jeffery Spellar and companion, Kim Bard, of Lewiston; a daughter, Susan Miller and companion, Roger Bourgoin Jr., of Brunswick; three siblings, William Spellar, Jill (Peter) Goodman and Deborah and Michael Zazzella, all of New Jersey; eight grandchildren, Angela, Alexander and Nicholas Tanski, Michael Gagnon, Christopher and Dustin Miller and Jennifer Gragg and Kevin Spellar; and five great-grandchildren, Taylor Tanski, Lilly Krajewski and Scott Krajewski Jr. and Mackenzie and Michael Gragg.
