LIVERMORE FALLS – Two teenagers and an adult were charged Tuesday in connection with burglaries and thefts in July at Mega Discount in Livermore Falls and in Thursday’s reported break-in at Franchetti’s Home Town Variety in Jay.

Jay police had received information that some of the items taken from Franchetti’s were seen just over the town line at a Livermore Falls apartment building, police Cpl. Jeffrey Fournier said.

Jay police sought a search warrant and worked with Livermore Falls police to execute it Tuesday at 145 Main St. in Livermore Falls, he said.

Corey Brown, 20, of that address and two 17-year-old boys also living there were questioned by police after items were discovered in the apartment building that were reported stolen from both businesses, Fournier said.

Livermore Falls police arrested Brown and one of the teenagers each on a charge of burglary and theft in connection with the Mega Discount burglary in July, Fournier said.

Jay police arrested the same teenager and the other one, each on charges of burglary and theft in connection with the Franchetti’s burglary, he said.

Cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of money were taken from Franchetti’s, Fournier said.

Livermore Falls officer Adam Sage said cigarettes, beer, knives and jewelry were among the items taken from Mega Discount in early July.

Jay officers Troy Young, Aaron Gordon and Fournier along with Livermore Falls officers Maurice Drouin, Steve Gould and Sage assisted with the search and interviews.

Brown made the $500 unsecured bail at the Livermore Falls Police Station on Tuesday. The two teenagers were conditionally released to their parents, Fournier said.

Brown is scheduled to appear Dec. 1 at Androscoggin County Superior Court in Auburn.

One teenager has a court date of Dec. 20 in Juvenile Court in Farmington.

The teenager with the two counts of burglary and theft is scheduled to appear in December at Juvenile Court in Lewiston. That date was unavailable Tuesday night.
