LEWISTON – Cecile L. Caron, 86, formerly of 260 Webster St., Lewiston, died Monday, Sept. 25, at Maison Marcotte Independent Living Center, where she had been a resident for the past three months.
She was born in East Broughton, PQ, Canada, on Feb. 21, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Celina Grenier Latulippe. Educated in Canadian schools, she moved to the Lewiston area as a young woman.
On Sept. 2, 1946, she was married to John B. Caron, and together they settled in the Brunswick area and raised their family. He passed away on Aug. 8, 1987. She was employed for many years at Auerbach Shoe Co. in Brunswick, and then later worked at Jay Brush Co.
After her retirement, she volunteered her time to several organizations, including S.E.A.R.C.H. and local hospitals. While living in Brunswick, she was a communicant of both St. John’s Parish and St. Charles Parish. Upon her return to Lewiston in 1993, she became a parishioner of Holy Cross Parish.
Survivors include two sons, Roger and wife, Jacqueline, of Lewiston and Richard and wife, Karen, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Florian Latulippe and wife, Rita, of Sarasota, Fla. and George Latulippe and wife, Helen, of Deland, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Betty Latulippe, of Lawrence, Mass.; six grandchildren, Ian, Jada, Gretchen, Amber, Amanda and Crystal; two great-grandchildren, Dustin and Braden; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters and six brothers.
Her sons would like to offer a special thanks to three of her nieces, Anita LaChapelle, Louise Frazer and Theresa Latulippe, for all the help and support they gave Cecile during her final months.
