AUBURN – Brittney French broke the school record for shutouts to lead Edward Little to a 3-0 victory over Gardiner in a girls’ soccer game.
French’s new standard erased the former mark set by current Edward Little coach Val Brown. French made three saves.
Alice Read, Katelyn St. Hilaire and Kirsten Prue tallied goals for the Red Eddies (5-4).
Michelle Rozma handled netkeeping duties for the Tigers (0-8), turning aside 11 shots. Edward Little held a 2-0 advantage at the half.
Rangeley 11, Averill 0
RANGELEY – Taylor Gellman tallied five goals as Rangeley routed Averil for an 11-0 decision.
Samanatha Olivieri added a pair of goals and four assists, while Emma White tallied two goals. Hayley White and Angela White rounded out the scoring for the Lakers (5-4-1), who played a strong passing game.
Angela White and Ali Godare split keeper duties, with each recording two saves for the shutout. Averill’s Tiffany Cookeson stopped 15 shots.
Georges Valley 0, Lisbon 0
LISBON – The Georges Valley and Lisbon girls’ soccer squads battled to a 0-0 tie.
The Greyhounds (5-2-2) outshot the unbeaten Buccaneers (8-0-1) 17-7, but didn’t have accuracy on their side.
Fullbacks Colleen Weddle, Traelynne Hinckley, Ashley Mason and Emily Moore all played a strong game defensively for Lisbon, helping to hold powerhouse Georges Valley at bay.
Sam Purcell made six saves for Lisbon, while Ashley Geel turned away 15 shots in net for Georges Valley.
Oxf. Hills 4, Lewiston 0
LEWISTON – Terry Bunce netted a hat trick Tuesday afternoon to propel Oxford Hills to a 4-0 rout over Lewiston.
Emmy Lou Blake also tallied for the Vikings (5-4). Samantha Rivers made 11 saves to preserve the shutout.
Katie Cobb handled netkeeping duties for the Blue Devils (1-8), turning aside eight shots.
Mt. Abram 2, Mtn Valley 0
RUMFORD – Morgan Cummings and Hannah Carlton both registered goals in the second half Tuesday as Mt. Abram rolled to a 2-0 triumph over Mountain Valley.
Noell Lake made seven saves in net for the Roadrunners (5-0-4) to preserve the shutout.
Kerri McPhearson handled netkeeping duties for the Falcons (1-6-1), turning aside eight shots.
Mt. Ararat 4, Leavitt 1
TURNER – Mandy Anderson led a group of four players to register goals Tuesday as Mt. Ararat cruised to a 4-1 victory over Leavitt.
Gillian Lane, Lexie Hauser and Kelsey Karkos also tallied for the Eagles (8-1). Jessica Stahl made six saves to notch the win. The Hornets’ (1-8) lone goal came from Erin Dostie on a penalty kick. Kat Rothe turned away seven shots.
Field hockey
Skowhegan 3, Mt. Blue 0
FARMINGTON – Becca Roy led a trio of players to record goals Tuesday as Skowhegan cruised to a 3-0 victory over Mt. Blue.
Lindsey Pinkham and Sam Gifford also tallied first-half goals for the undefeated Indians (9-0). Meghan Smith made 10 saves in net to notch the shutout.
Ashley Lewia handled netkeeping duties for the Cougars (5-3-1), turning away 25 shots.
Oxford Hills 2, Brunswick 1 (OT)
SOUTH PARIS – Tia Pratt came out on top of a one-on-one with Brunswick keeper Kelsey McPherson and scored with 53 seconds left in overtime to lift Oxford Hills to a 2-1 victory over Brunswick.
Pratt tallied both goals for the Vikings (6-2-1) to lead the offensive effort. Aleksys Pike made five saves in net.
Blake Penapzer scored the lone goal for the Dragons (3-5).
EL 3, Mt. Ararat 2
AUBURN – Allie Forgues tallied what would prove to be the game-winning goal off a feed from Samantha Dean to lead the Edward Little field hockey team to a 3-2 triumph.
Breanna Wing scored the first goal for the Eddies (4-5) off a pass by Forgues. Karen Leary also scored for E.L. off a penalty corner.
The Eagles (1-8) were paced with unassisted goals by Jordan Brown and Lisa Manchen.
