Lewiston – Sandra (Sandy) Lawrence, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 25.

She was born in Norway, on May 12, 1946, a daughter of the late Hilliard M. Nichols and Mary E. (Austin) Fitts. She attended local schools and had just recently received her associate’s degree in social working. She had previously worked as a paper carrier for the Lewiston Sun Journal.

She was a member of the South End Club, and greatly enjoyed playing pool at the Esplanade and playing cards; she also loved spending time with the grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Dale P. Lawrence and fiancé, Cheryl, of Lewiston; her stepchildren, Cathy Tardiff of Lewiston, Debbie Jacques and Pat Provencher, both of Bowdoinham; a brother, Dale Fitts of Dixfield; a good friend, Arthur Lawrence; her grandchildren, Zack Jacques, Daniel, Kayla and Christopher Leet and Justin Plourde; her great-grandchildren, Christian and Trinity Leet; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her companion, Laura Provencher; and her four sisters, Mary, Lucy, Linda and Sharon.
