DOVER, N.H. (AP) – A local woman has been charged with perjury after she allegedly made false claims about being pregnant with triplets during a custody hearing.

Brianne Sexton, 27, was indicted by a grand jury. She’s accused of lying under oath last year and presenting court officials with false ultrasounds. The claim arose during a lengthy custody dispute between Sexton and the father of two of her children.

According to court documents, Sexton had faked going into labor twice prior to the court hearing. Both times she was released after refusing a physical examination. Following those incidents, she was ordered to under go a psychological evaluation. She will be arraigned on Oct. 10.

If convicted, the felony perjury charge could lead to a sentence of up to seven years in prison.
