Blood drive
RUMFORD – An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the American Legion Hall, 184 Congress St. For more information, contact Rumford Hospital at 369-1000 or the American Red Cross at 1-800-482-0743.
Benefit dinner
RUMFORD – There will be a benefit spaghetti dinner, auction and dance from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, Oct. 6, at the Eagles for the Bruce Bulger family, who lost their home to a fire. Bulger is a SAD 43 bus drivers and is also a custodian at St. Athanasius and St. John’s Church. A $5 donation is requested.
Club dance
RUMFORD – A dance at the Snowshoe Club will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Oct. 7, with music by E/I Band. Members and guests are welcome.
Class meeting
MEXICO – The Mexico High School Class of 1959 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at Teena’s Restaurant.
Oktoberfest
RUMFORD – The Rumford Area Rotary’s 13th annual Oktoberfest is slated for Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Adult Activity Center, formerly the Armory.
Crafters and businesses will display their wares from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and there will be special activities for children. The kitchen will have lunch available.
There are still spaces available. To reserve a space, call Joe Sirois at 364-4561 to obtain an application.
Raffle drawing
RUMFORD – The Moontide Water Festival, in association with HomeTown Energy of Dixfield, will hold a drawing for 100 gallons of fuel oil. The winner will be chosen at Christmas in the Valley on Dec. 2 at Mountain Valley High School.
