PARIS – Middle school health educators have some extra money for HIV education.
The Oxford Hills School District won a $500 Department of Education grant when high school teacher Ann Speth entered a raffle at a conference.
The money is to be used specifically for HIV education.
District health coordinator Jen Cash said the money will be used toward new resources – she doesn’t know exactly what yet but it will include DVDs and computer programs to educate students about the disease.
The district approaches HIV education through socially transmitted disease prevention, Cash said.
