FREEPORT – Freeport Merchants Association has announced the winners of the eighth annual Fall in the Village Art Festival, held in Discovery Park. Judges selected from nearly a hundred artists and artisans in categories including traditional works of art, photography and digital artwork, as well as mixed media and three-dimensional works.

Pamela Jo Ellis of Rangeley won for original works of art, traditional, media two dimensional. The photography/digital artwork category was won by Greg Currier of Camden. The award for mixed media and three dimensional works was given to Peter Asselyn of Durham. The Captain Briggs House B&B People’s Choice Award was won by Gail Morgan of Yarmouth. The Best in Show Purchase Prize, sponsored by L.L.Bean, was awarded to Donna-Lacey Derstine of Harrison.

Works from the winning artists will be available for viewing at FreeportUSA.com over the next few days. Artists may preregister online for the 2007 festival at any time. For more information, contact Freeport Merchants Association at 865-1212.
