FARMINGTON – George N. Osborne, 88, of Farmington, died Sunday, Oct. 1, at Sandy River Rehab and Living Center in Farmington.

He was born on Jan. 23, 1918, in Farmington, a son of the late Frank and Helen (Norton) Osborne.

He was educated in the schools of Farmington and Boston.

He served in the United States Army from Jan. 19, 1941, to Nov. 27, 1945. On Nov. 9, 1945 he married Martha Greenleaf in Farmington.

He worked for over 30 years at Bass Shoe Co. in Wilton as a cutter.

He enjoyed gardening and loved to have a corn roast in the fall. He also loved to go dancing and go on bus trips.

He is survived by a son, Richard A. Chabot Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Farmington; a daughter, Rachel O. Fronk, and her husband, Keith E., of Farmington; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Fronk and his wife, Brenda, of Farmington, Betsy Daniel and her husband, Ted of Westbrook and Richard A. Chabot, Jr. of Farmington; four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Brooke, Justin and Anna; and brother-in-law, Fred Greenleaf, and his companion, Florence Smith, of Chesterville.

In addition to his wife, Martha, who died Oct. 8, 2004; and his parents; he is predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
