NORWAY – “24/7 @ Norway Memorial Library” is the theme of an upcoming promotion at the town library.
Its aim is to encourage the use of resources available from any Internet-connected computer whether the library is open or not. Through links available on the library’s Web site, www.norway.lib.me.us, patrons can search the Minerva catalogue for items to borrow, make requests for materials and access their records to check due dates and request renewals.
Marvel, Maine’s virtual library, is a collection of reference resources, including ProQuest Newspapers and Maine Newsstand, online Encyclopedia Britannica, thousands of journal and magazine articles grouped in databases such as Health Source Consumer Edition, Student Research Center, Annals of American History and Regional Business News.
Tutorials are scheduled in October on how to use the online resources.
Minerva catalogue tutorials will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, and 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. Marvel database tutorials will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, and 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2. Call 743-5309 for information or to register for a tutorial.
