LEWISTON – Duane Pelz led a group of four players to register goals as Bates defeated the University of Southern Maine 4-0 in men’s soccer.

Brent Morin, Ben Lajoie and Andrew Wyman also tallied for the Bobcats (5-3) to complete the scoring. Rob Munro needed only one save to record the shutout.

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Megan Stanley and Leah Scrutchfield sealed Southern Maine’s victory over Fitchburg State by a score of 2-1 in a penalty stroke shoot-out.

Freshman keeper Allie Hill made 14 saves, including four key stops in the shootout.
