Bottle drive
SALEM – Members of the Salem United Methodist Church will host a community bottle drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, in Salem and the surrounding communities in an effort to raise the support needed to bring the church’s long-term foundation project to completion.
The 100-plus-year-old building, moved onto new frost walls last summer, sits in its new spot in the center of the village on an expanded lot. With the help of volunteers, a garden is forming around a new flagpole donated by Everett Jordan. A new parking lot is taking shape. Services, starting at 8 a.m. Sundays, resumed a few weeks ago.
To donate, for bottle pick-up or for more information, call 678-2442 or 678-2877.
