DIXFIELD – Lucas Thom Dolloff, 11, of Dixfield, died as the result of an accident Monday, Oct. 2, at his home on the Dixfield Common Road.
Lucas was born May 18, 1995, in Rumford, a son of James G. and Heidi Marion (Walton) Dolloff Jr. He was a fifth-grade student at the Dixfield Elementary School, where he is remembered as always being kind and quick to cheer you up with a joke or a goofy smile.
His family remembers him as being someone who touched all the hearts of those who knew him and was very affectionate. He loved all animals, especially dogs and cats; liked to climb trees and go four-wheeling and enjoyed his mini bike. He loved adventures in the woods out back behind his family’s home and loved going to camp at Concord Pond. He excelled in all sports, was the two-time state champion in wrestling and played offensive guard and defensive end in football and was an outfielder in baseball.
He is described as a “a good helper” and in the words of his dad, “a picture of contentment, no matter what he did.” Lucas loved his family and friends very much and had many happy adventures with his favorite friend and cousin Sabin Lavorgna (family referred to the two of them as “peas and carrots”) and longtime neighbors and friends Elliot and Dylan.
Lucas is survived by his parents, whom he loved very much, James and Heidi Dolloff, of Dixfield: a brother, Benjamin Dolloff; two sisters, Rebecca Dolloff and Rachel Dolloff, all of Dixfield; his paternal Grammie, Janis Dolloff, of Dixfield; grandmother, Karen Wolfe, of Tennessee; grandfather, Larry Walton of Bryant Pond; maternal great-grandmother, Audrey Thompson of Rumford; paternal great-Nanna, Mariette Dolloff of Rumford and paternal great-Grammie, Carleen Philbrick of Mexico; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Dolloff Jan. 1991; grandfather, James G. Dolloff Sr.; and great-grandfathers, Aubrey Thompson, Joseph Philbrick and Chester Dolloff.
