Lewiston – Fernand M. Audette, 89, of Sabattus passed away on Oct. 4, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion.

He was born on June 20, 1917, in Biddeford, a son of the late Archille and Alcida (Blais) Audette.

He attended Lewiston schools, and later went to serve his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Liane A. Levesque on May 30, 1936, at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn. She predeceased him on Feb. 11, 1999, after 62 years of marriage.

He worked for many years at Morin’s in Auburn. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, the American Legion Post 135 of Sabattus, the Lisbon Falls Knights of Colombus Council 2358, 3rd degree, the Derby Club and also a member of the ACA. He greatly enjoyed icefishing and playing cards.

He is survived by a daughter, Anita Ellingson, and husband, Barney, of Davison, Mich.; his two sons, Henry Audette, and wife, Nancy, of Odessa, Fla. and Albert Audette, of Sabattus and fiancé, Lorraine Bolen, of Lewiston; a sister, Gabrielle Gauthier of Lewiston; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; his loving wife; and a sister, Therese Nadeau.
