Road work starts

FAYETTE – The Sandy River Road “Lafe Hill” reconstruction project has been delayed but started Wednesday with the construction period extended to Oct. 13.

The road is accessed from Chesterville and Mount Vernon. During the project, there will be ditch work and eventually it will be paved with a hot-mix.

Meeting canceled

JAY – The selectmen’s meeting for Tuesday, Oct. 10, has been canceled. There were no agenda items except an executive session that can wait, Town Manager Ruth Marden said.
