LEWISTON – Annie A. Bubier, 97, a resident of Gardiner Road, Wales, died early Friday morning, Oct. 6, at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston where she had been a resident for the past 10 days.
She was born Oct. 30, 1908, in Wales, the daughter of Walter and Jennie (Frost) Greenwood. Annie attended Wales schools.
On Sept. 22, 1928, she married Chester E. Bubier. He died on Aug. 2, 1985.
She worked at Koss Shoe in Auburn.
Annie was a lifetime member of Litchfield Sportsman’s Club and the South Monmouth Sewing Circle. She loved the time she spent with her family and taking her grandchildren fishing at their camp at Kingsbury Pond. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and especially playing Bingo in the area.
She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Cram and her husband, Bradford, of Wales; two sons, Walter “Bud” Bubier and his wife, Frances, of Monmouth, and Wallace Bubier of Litchfield; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Eva Greenwood of Wales; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Chester; a brother, Forrest Greenwood; four sisters, Jessie Smith, Lottie Austin, Louise Hinkley and Hazel Hinkley; and a daughter-in-law, Rita Bubier.
