I’ve been watching the TV commercial in which Gov. John Baldacci challenges Chandler Woodcock’s voting record. The ad says that taking away a woman’s right to choose will move the state backward. In my book, stopping the killing of unborn babies is definitely a step forward for our state.

And as far as the Taxpayer Bill of Rights is concerned, there are lots of special interest groups spending lots of money, trying to convince people that it is a bad deal for the state of Maine and things would get worse. If I’m not mistaken, we’re already the highest-taxed state in the country. How can it get any worse if we’re already last?

It can only get better.

We need to put a cap on taxes. People shouldn’t let their tax-and-spend officials in Augusta fool us.
