Well, six months have passed and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield wants another rate increase. Surprised?
If we can keep our Health Choice $5,000 deductible on each person’s policy, premiums will go from $605.69 to $721.25 a month. That’s $5,000 each out of pocket on top of the premium each month.
I’ll bet Anthem administrators and our government officials and congressmen have “better than” $5,000 deductible, and at a lower rate than we pay. What do you think?
I don’t want to subsidize Dirigo Health if this is how it will be: that the rest of us go broke or lose our insurance.
With gas and oil sure to go back up and taxes still going up, there’s hardly any left over to pay the other bills and prescriptions that come with getting older, never mind food. We better keep working until death.
Or, when we all go off insurance, use that $721 to pay other bills and just live. Where will Anthem be then? Will they raise their rates right out of business?
