LEWISTON – The wedding of Leah Mortimer and Thomas Prescott Huri was held at 5 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the Bates College Chapel in Lewiston. Dr. William Gordon, uncle of the bride, officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Huri is the daughter of Judith E. Jewell and Bruce A. Mortimer of Winthrop. Mr. Huri is the son of Daniel D. Huri and Annette C. Huri of Dover-Foxcroft.

The bride was given in marriage by Bruce Mortimer and Judith Jewell. Meghan Conti of Essex Junction, Vt., and Christie Monteith of Farmingdale, friends of the bride, were honor attendants. Bridesmaids were Kristalyn Keenan of Lyman, Libby Gillespie of Winthrop, and Angela Beal of Winthrop.

Best men were Michael Huri of Wells, brother of the bridegroom, and Adam Beal of Winthrop, cousin of the bridegroom. Ushers were brothers of the bride, Ian Mortimer, Jonathan Mortimer and Benjamin Jewell, all of Winthrop. Nathan Jewell, brother of the bride, was ring bearer.

A reception followed at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston, after which the couple traveled to Castine and Cancun, Mexico.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Winthrop High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of New England, with a master’s degree in occupational therapy. She is employed at the Margaret Murphy Center for Children in Lewiston.

The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate of Foxcroft Academy and a 2000 graduate of Southern Maine Technical College, with a degree in electrical technology. He is employed at Time Warner Cable of Maine.
