WALES – Gardiner rushers amassed 431 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground in a 67-12 victory over Oak Hill in a Class B Pine Tree Conference clash.

Devon Brown opened the scoring in the first quarter with a six-yard run and Gardiner never looked back. Quarterback Kyle Stilphen pushed accross a one-yard score for a 13-0 first quarter lead. Travis Emmons broke a 52-yard run that put the Tigers up 19-0.

Josh Jillson drove the Raiders (1-5) 70 yards, highlighted by a screen pass to fullback Nick Brown for 20 yards, for their only first-half score. Jillson pushed across the goal-line for the one yard score.

Stilphen added two touchdown passes to Nick Jamison of 46 and 61 yards before Peter Cardonna ran in the final score of the half, giving the Tigers (6-0) a commanding 39-6 lead at the half.

Playing without leading rusher Adam Tremblay, who hurt his knee in last week’s loss to Waterville, Brown led Oak Hill with 73 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown run. Jillson added 66 yards on the ground. Emmons finished with 150 yards and two touchdowns while Gunner Vermillion picked up 89 yards and a pair of scores for Gardiner.

Soccer

St. Dom’s 2, Waynflete 1

PORTLAND – Matt Barlion had a goal and an assist in the first half as St. Dom’s held off Waynflete, 2-1.

Andy Allen opened the scoring the Saints (7-2-4) three minutes into the game. After Barlion’s goal made it 2-0, Tristen Corriveau tallied an unassisted goal for Waynflete.

Austin Fuller made one save for St. Dom’s while Chris Gillespie stopped eight for the Flyers.

Monmouth 1, Winthrop 0

MONMOUTH – Myles Bonenfant scored the game’s lone goal with 11:16 left in the first half as Monmouth snagged a 1-0 win over Winthrop in a homecoming MVC boys’ soccer matchup Saturday.

Goalie Dylan Reny made 11 saves for Monmouth, while Mike Gingras turned away 18 for Winthrop.

MCI 4, Oak Hill 3, OT

PITTSFIELD – Oak Hill could not hold on to a 3-1 lead as MCI rallied to caputre a 4-3 overtime victory.

Kyle Liimatainen scored on a direct kick with about a minute left in regulation to send the game into overtime. Alex Sidelinger scored his second goal of the game in OT to clinch it for MCI.

Nate McDonald, John Morissette and Jon Perron each netted goals for the Raiders (3-9-1). Kory Vanek stopped 18 shots while Benson Bonsu turned away 13 for MCI.
