Homeland Security is on most of our minds. When I hear this important subject now – almost every day of late – my thoughts go beyond the national and the state scene to focus locally.

Personally, I believe security goes beyond safety issues. Yes, they are vital, and yes, you have to also consider the plight of citizens right here in Lewiston and the surrounding area around.

For years, Lewiston has been fortunate to have Peggy Rotundo watching over the city in the state Senate. No one has protected Lewiston better than Peggy Rotundo.

She has served us well and I, and my family, support her. She is Lewiston’s first lady.
