AUBURN – Central Maine Community College has named Randall E. Lee as the new dean of student services.

Lee himself is a community college graduate, having attended East Central Community College in Decatur, Miss., before earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in counseling psychology, with a concentration in student affairs from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a candidate for a doctorate in higher education at the University of Southern Mississippi. His career in student services began in graduate school, where he did an internship in the student affairs office.

After receiving his master’s degree, Lee served eight years in the U.S. Army, culminating with a command within the 82nd Airborne Division, before returning to East Central CC, where he became chief student affairs officer. He has also been chief academic officer at East Mississippi Community College and was vice president of student affairs at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Mo., for four years before accepting the position at CMCC.

Lee is no stranger to Maine; his wife, Michelle, is from Brunswick, and they and their two children spend some time each year in the state.
