WILTON – The 80th annual Cox family reunion was held on Aug. 12 at Kineowatha Park, with 22 members present.

There was a chicken barbecue and potluck lunch. Tim Rines and Chuck Cox served as chefs, with Jean Cox and Cindy Rines assisting. After lunch, a business meeting was held and the secretary’s and the treasurer’s reports were read and accepted.

Deceased members were Thelma Inez Winslow Truman, 88, of Norway, daughter of Dana Winslow and Inez Winslow Cox; Steven E. Madsen, 61, of West Gardiner, son of Arthur and Ilda Cox Madsen; and Betsy Lerette, 64, of West Gardiner, daughter of Clarence and Dot Staples.

The eldest man present was Frank Cox and the eldest woman present was Maxine Palmer. The youngest member was Charlee Cox of Lisbon. Shirley Cartswell traveled the greatest distance.

Gifts were given, an auction was held and donations were accepted. Next year’s reunion will be at Kineowatha Park on Saturday, Aug. 11.
