PARIS – The Oxford Hills Human Resources Roundtable will hold its monthly lunch meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Western Maine University and Community College Center at 232 Main St.

The meeting is open to all human resources professionals as well as anyone who manages employees. There is no charge for the meeting and attendees are welcome to bring their lunch.

The topic is Ergonomics in a Shoe Box, presented by Jan Salis. She will share her observations and experiences from treating workplace injuries for the past 20 years and provide insight on how to teach employees how to safely work in their “safe zones.” Salis will provide an overview of the types of common workplace injuries and how they can be prevented.

Salis is the physical rehabilitation manager at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway where she also treats workplace and athletic injured individuals. Prior to that, Salis was a physical therapist at Granite Hill Physical Therapy in Brunswick and an athletic trainer for Bates College and the University of New England.

The Oxford Hills Human Resources Roundtable provides an opportunity for local human resource professionals, and anyone who manages employees, to learn more about relevant HR topics and to network through monthly lunch meetings.
