NEW VINEYARD – Glen David Toothaker, 55, of New Vineyard died at home Tuesday, Oct. 10, surrounded by family.
He was born in Farmington July 4, 1951, the son of the late Gerold and Ruth Toothaker Sr. He was a Vietnam veteran and recipient of a Purple Heart.
He most recently worked for E.L. Vining before falling ill; prior to that, he was employed by North Anson Reel for 23 years and the state of Maine for two.
He enjoyed camping at Cathedral Pines Campground Lot 34, four-wheeling, watching NASCAR’S Bobby LaBonte and spoiling his grandchildren.
He held the position of past trailmaster for Flagstaff Area ATV Club. He was past president of the Franklin County Firemen’s Association and former assistant chief of the New Vineyard Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara Wacome Toothaker; one son, David Toothaker, and his companion, Terry, of Stratton; daughter, Danielle Savage, and her companion, Ray, of Wilton; one grandson, Mitchell; three granddaughters, Danika, Mallary and Kennady; two brothers, Gerold Jr., and his wife, Phyllis, of East Wilton and Gordan “Bub” of Wilton; five sisters, Glana Roberts, and her husband, Ed, of Jay, Glenda Gorden of Jay, Genelle Gingrais, and husband, Paul, of Jay, Gae Toothaker of Lewiston and Geri Toothaker of Temple; special friends, Will and Theresa Daggett; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ruth and Gerold Toothaker Sr.; three brothers, Glidden “Tuffy,” Gaylan “Tarz” and Glendon “Joe”; and sister, Gloria Miller.
