RUMFORD – Perley G. Noyes, 80, Peru, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Rumford Community Hospital.

He was born on March 26, 1926, the son of Perley G. Noyes Sr. and Bertha McFarland Noyes. He was educated in Carthage and Greene schools and entered the service in 1942, serving in World War II. He was discharged as a Platoon Sgt. 505 Paratroop infantry in 1950. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, canoeing and sharing his stories with others. He was also a registered Master Maine Guide. He belonged to the Rumford VFW, American Legion and the King Hiram Lodge AF & AM No. 59 for more than 50 years.

He was married to Pearl Noyes in 1950.

He is survived by his three sons, Gary Noyes and Jen Nault of Rumford, Brian Noyes and Sharon of Dixfield and Bruce Noyes of Camden; a sister, Violet Bergeron of Sabattus; five grandchildren, Melinda Woods and Jamie, Mike Noyes and Shannon, Bobbi Ducharme and Jason, Tanya Pomerleau and Mike and Nicole Waite and Dan; three stepgrandchildren, Rick Breau, Jaime Breau and Kristina Breau; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Pearl Noyes; one brother; four sisters; and one granddaughter, Lindsay Noyes in 1989.
