LEWISTON – David A. Fleet, 71, of Newry, died Oct. 12.

He was born in Newry on Feb. 15, 1935, the son of Roland M. and Julia (Brooks) Fleet and attended local schools. He married E. Jeannine Rolfe on April 10, 1960; she died in March 1984. He had been a logger for 60 years and had been a Boy Scout leader for several years. He was an outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his companion, Laurie Beaudoin of Hanover; five children, Jeffrey Fleet, and his wife, Sheila, of Hanover, Marshall Fleet, and his wife, Brenda, of Mason Township, Alan Fleet, and his companion, Ann Friedlander, of Newry, Tammy Fleet of Derry, N.H. and Penny Cadogan, and her husband, Neil of Ayer, Mass.; and six grandchildren, Heather Fleet and Jason Foote of Derry, N.H., Casey Fleet and Michael Fleet of Hanover, Molly Cadogan and Katie Cadogan of Ayer, Mass.; and mother-in-law Isabelle Rolfe.

He was predeceased by his wife, E. Jeannine Fleet; mother, Julia Brooks Fleet; father, Roland Marshall Fleet; father-in-law, Marshall Rolfe; and granddaughter, Megan Cadogan.
